"Asuka is still undefeated. Royal Rumble: nothing will change"

If she does not emerge victorious in the Royal Rumble, would it mean that Asuka would lose her winning streak? Well, it seems so, at least if we go by the words that the Japanese wrestler gave to WWE cameras in a quick promo that was posted on the company's official Twitter account. In it, the longest-reigning NXT Women's Champion in history commented the following:

After another victory at #WWEHartford, @WWEAsuka marches forward towards the Women's #RoyalRumble. pic.twitter.com/UDgCy5iItQ

Anyway, the veracity of this conjecture remains to be seen, because if we were to go by that logic, then the former Kana would have already lost her streak some time ago. Remember that in NXT, she could not secure victory on two occasions, one as part of a Battle Royal to determine the new contender (being eliminated by, inexplicably, Eva Marie) and another in a triple threat match. However, she was never pinned.

"The Empress of Tomorrow's" undefeated streak is truly enviable: not only does she have the longest streak of all time, but also the longest reign of the last 20 years in the third brand, allowing her to secure a place among the top ten longest reigning champions in both the women's and men's divisions. Of course, she is the most dominant female in history.

The question now is, does she have a chance today to be the last woman standing in the first-ever women's Royal Rumble? Without a doubt, she is one of the top candidates, especially if we take a look at the possible scenarios that this would lead to. First, aspiring for the Raw Women's Championship, where she would face Alexa Bliss at WrestleMania 34; or alternatively, facing Charlotte, the other champion; or, why not, facing Ronda Rousey at the grand event, a rumor that is gaining more strength.

For now, there hasn't been much information regarding who could be the inaugural winner of this highly-anticipated battle, but with Rousey's almost imminent debut, most fans have placed their bets on the historic Bantamweight who, although already criticized by a sector of the audience, indirectly played a huge role in the Women's Revolution that started in WWE in mid-2015.

What do you think? Do you believe that this way Asuka's streak would be in jeopardy? Who do you think has the most chances of winning the women's Royal Rumble? Leave your opinions in the comment section.
