Erick Pulgar
seems to have one foot in European football. The midfielder from Universidad Católica has reached a preliminary agreement with Bologna from Italy, and in the coming days his transfer to Serie A, his first experience abroad, would be made official.
The transfer is confirmed for a sum of around 2.5 million euros, which will be distributed 80 percent to the university team and 20 percent to Antofagasta, the other owner of his pass.
Pulgar has already said goodbye to his teammates at San Carlos de Apoquindo, and coach Mario Salas even talks about him in the past. "Very happy for Erick, for his family. These are things that clubs and coaches are really proud of, being able to be part of his development," he said in an interview with Cruzados.
The player is also packing his bags for his new experience. "Now I hope to arrive there and do it like I did at UC. Calm and eager to fight for a place. I'm going there to work hard and try to establish myself as soon as possible," he told the club's website.
The club moved quickly with his replacement and before his departure was confirmed, they presented Marco Medel on Tuesday, who comes from Santiago Wanderers as a free player.
