Last Wrestling Surprise of the Year
The last wrestling surprise of the year had Cody as its protagonist, as his defeat for the ROH World Championship against Dalton Castle challenged a great majority of predictions. Similarly, his match against Kota Ibushi at Wrestle Kingdom 12 seems to still be scheduled, but what really occupies the mind of Dusty Rhodes' son now is the realization of All In, his own independent event that aims to fill 10,000 seats.
Cody and the Young Bucks will put on a show for 10,000 people in an arena.
Cody continues to state his intentions on the Pro Wrestling Illustrated Podcast
Despite some alleged impediments and the still lack of date and venue, the plans remain firm.
“I've been told that it's not a very realistic goal. That's what I've been told. But it's not about proving people wrong. It's about proving things can be done. I'm very confident, and Matt and Nick want to do it. There are no shades in what I'm saying: All In will happen in 2018. We are close to finding a date and a place that are suitable for everyone.”
First it was Daniel Bryan, and recently the rumor of CM Punk joining All In emerged. This is what the event promoter has to say about it:
“The first thing people said when the news broke was, 'You have to get CM Punk.' I love CM Punk. Fans never got tired of CM Punk. If CM Punk wants to be part of All In, he can be. But I don't want to include him just to fill those 10,000 seats. If we had CM Punk, I wouldn't tell you, unless we didn't sell a single ticket [laughs].”
Bryan was the next focal point, clarifying a little that the health of "The American Dragon" comes first.
“The main thing is that I want Dan to be happy and healthy. But I know that Dan knows what we're thinking and when we're thinking it. So if we could do it, it would be a wonderful match. And I think it would be wonderful to do it for the Ring of Honor World Championship, considering his roots with the company. To this day, the company is nothing like it used to be, and that's why I think it would be interesting. But we're exploring all kinds of options.”
