After Asuka left the vacant NXT Women's Championship to move up to the main roster, Ember Moon became the new queen of the yellow brand after defeating Kairi Sane, Peyton Royce, and Nikki Cross at NXT TakeOver: WarGames.
During a recent interview with WWE.com, the champion has spoken about various matters following her coronation.
About winning the championship
"As soon as I won the title, I remember doing an interview right away. When I got to the locker room, it was completely empty. I looked at the title and my gear. I told myself, 'I finally did it.' I finally solidified every decision I made in my career and justified it. I took a moment to step away from the madness and live in that moment of happiness."
About Asuka's congratulations
"She and I started on the exact same day at the WWE Performance Center, and although our paths were different, they always seem to intertwine. We used to travel together and try to better each other both inside and outside the ring. It was incredible that she showed me respect by handing me the NXT Women's Championship and celebrating our mutual love for wrestling in the middle of the squared circle."
About her goal as champion
"My goal is to have the longest reign in NXT history. I couldn't end Asuka's undefeated streak, but I can break her record as the longest-reigning NXT Women's Champion. I want to prove that I am a rising legend who will solidify her place in WWE history."
