The Crash Lucha Libre announces departure of Carlos Santiago Espada

Through a statement released on their social networks, the Tijuana-based company The Crash Lucha Libre has announced that Carlos Santiago Espada, better known as Konnan, will no longer work as a programmer and creative manager of the company, starting today.

The text states that the veteran former wrestler violated the company's internal regulations, which led to his employment termination.

Full statement:

“The Crash Lucha Libre company has been characterized by giving human value to every person who works for the company, improving their economic and everyday needs and always providing support to each individual and giving opportunities to new promises; it is governed by a set of values and professionalism, with respect prevailing among all its employees. As Mr. Carlos Santiago Espada "Konnan" has failed to comply with the internal regulations of The Crash Lucha Libre, we inform you that he is no longer collaborating with this company. We appreciate his time and contributions and wish him the best of success in future projects."

“We look forward to upcoming events to welcome 2018 with the best fights and our arrival in the United States.”

Attentively,

The Administration of The Crash Lucha Libre

Additionally, The Crash does not specify the exact reason, but everything indicates that the controversial Konnan did not inform that he would also be working as a programmer for Arolucha, the new wrestling promotion based in Nashville, Tennessee, which starts recording this month and is endorsed by Impact Wrestling. With this, the working relationships between The Crash Lucha Libre and Impact Wrestling, which were strengthened through Konnan, could be seriously damaged.

Another relevant aspect is that The Crash's tours outside of Tijuana have not been as successful as expected due to the high prices that local promoters charge in those places, as wrestlers who used to be paid 1500 pesos now ask for 10,000.

Konnan has not made any statements regarding this issue.
