On Saturday was the last time we saw Miguel Cotto in the ring. The Puerto Rican said goodbye to the boxing with a demonstration of courage, but it was not enough to defeat the American Sadam Ali in a 12-round fight at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Cotto fought from the seventh round with an injury in his left biceps and gave Ali his super welterweight crown from the World Boxing Organization (WBO).
They gave the unanimous verdict to Ali with scores of 115-113, 116-112 and 115-113.

Cotto, 37, was overwhelmed by the speed of his younger opponent's legs and hands. "I feel good about the performance. Something happened to my left biceps (...) I don't want to make excuses, Sadam won the fight," he said.
"This is my last fight. I'm fine, and I want to be happy at home with my family," said Cotto, who received a thunderous ovation when he entered and when he retired from the ring at Madison, his second home.
Cotto leaves boxing with a legacy of six belts in four divisions and is the only Puerto Rican boxer to have held four world titles.
