America trust in victory over Real Santander
The leaders of America say they fully trust that the team will defeat Real Santander, and with that, any cloud that could threaten coach Fernando Velasco would be cleared.
"We have to win," says Fernando Velasco
For his part, the coach of the 'scarlets' assured that he is calm, focused on his work, and convinced that as the games go by, the team will synchronize with a view to the quadrangulars.
"In the first phase, we achieved a performance of over 50 percent with players who were already here. And in the second phase, I think the only bad thing was drawing with Fortaleza. The sin has been drawing too much because in six months we have lost three games," said Fernando Velasco.
Modifications in the America team
The reds will have three modifications compared to the team that faced Valledupar in the previous round. Cristian Subero will be in place of Laineker Zafra, Stiven Tapiero will replace Wilmer Largacha, and the forward Feiver Mercado will replace defender Julio Murillo, who was one of the five defenders in Valledupar.
America to play in Buga as the local team
America will play in Buga as the local team for their first match of the second phase - they played against Bogota and Fortaleza in Tuluá. After three rounds, the 'scarlets' have one win and two draws. They are in fifth position (30 points, 16 points behind the leader Bucaramanga).
Uruguayan defender Rodrigo Canosa speaks about the match
About the clash against the Santander team, Uruguayan defender Rodrigo Canosa said: "We will try to grasp the idea of what the coach says. He has to trust the squad he has. I think the players need more aggressiveness, to go for every ball as if it were the last one, to have a short, solid team. We are in a big team, there are no excuses, we have to win on all pitches, whether home or away."
