On June 18 of this year, we saw how Carmella and Baron Corbin got their respective Money in the Bank briefcases—although in the case of the amazon it was done by her companion James Ellsworth—in an event that was exclusive to Smackdown Live.

Two months later, the 'Lone Wolf' cashed in his briefcase against then WWE Champion Jinder Mahal, and was defeated, joining names like Mr. Kennedy, John Cena or Damien Sandow, who suffered the same fate. On the other hand, we still haven't seen Carmella try it.

But let's leave both of them aside, and focus on the 2018 edition of Money in the Bank. Before we get into it, it's worth mentioning that it will be held in Rosemont, Illinois, just like in 2011, when CM Punk defeated John Cena to become WWE Champion.

Getting into the matter, PWInsider reports that next year this event would no longer be exclusive to the blue brand, becoming the main event for both brands.

What is not clear is how many ladder matches with the briefcase stipulation there will be, since during the previous brand split in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013, there were two briefcase matches: one for a contract for the WWE Championship and another for a contract for the World Heavyweight Championship.

It would be logical to go back to the same format: one briefcase for the WWE Championship and another for the Universal Championship. But since there was already a women's Money in the Bank match in 2017, would they also have a match for the Raw Women's Championship and one for the SmackDown Women's Championship?

Four ladder matches in a single event is too much, so we'll have to wait and see what WWE has planned.

Do you think it will be better for the event to be shared by both brands?
