The medalists of the Toronto 2015 Pan American Games were awarded at the Government Palace for obtaining medals in the competition that ended a week ago.
Ollanta Humala led the ceremony and was in charge of giving out the checks to each athlete. There were 11 athletes present, as three of them are out of the country.

Jaime Saavedra, Minister of Education, began with a speech highlighting the values that athletes teach young people.
Maggie Martinelli, head of the delegation, thanked the good behavior of the athletes. "We went to get a number of medals, but we didn't think about the gold." She assured that there are many young people who will bring more joy to the country in the future.
Ollanta Humala highlighted the participation of each one and thanked them for "putting Peru on the world stage".
