Wrestle Kingdom 12: Chris Jericho vs. Kenny Omega
On January 4th, the professional wrestling world will be eagerly watching what happens at the Tokyo Dome in Wrestle Kingdom 12. To be fair, the entire event presents an amazing lineup that promises to delight all fans of this sport.
NJPW: Wrestle Kingdom 12's card, 6 championship matches
Recently, Chris Jericho, a WWE superstar, spoke about the previously mentioned match, explaining why this fight is great for the industry. He also expressed that companies like New Japan Pro Wrestling and Ring of Honor are good for the McMahon product.
Today we continue to talk about the highly anticipated match, as one of the biggest stars of the Japanese company, Kazuchika Okada, IWGP Heavyweight Champion, recently commented on some details during an interview with Fox Sports Australia. He first talked about when he found out about the match.
"I found out about it at Power Struggle in Osaka. I had no idea. I was in the dressing room watching the event when I found out, and I thought, 'Wow! What?'"
Perhaps the most interesting part of the interview came when the Japanese star was asked if he would be interested in a match with Chris Jericho. Despite the magnitude that this confrontation could reach, Okada didn't seem too excited about the possibility of getting in the ring with a great legend.
"I'm okay. I just want to enjoy, as a fan, Kenny Omega against Chris Jericho."
During the interview, he also spoke about his brief time in TNA. He made his debut in 2010 thanks to the agreement between the American and Japanese companies, but he didn't make an impact, mostly due to mismanagement.
"For me, it was a good experience. In TNA, they don't care about having good matches. But they taught me how to work on my character, with television and cameras. So it was good for me to become 'The Rainmaker.' But to fight, be strong, and have good matches, I learned that in New Japan Pro Wrestling."
