Sami Zayn helped Kevin Owens defeat Shane McMahon at Hell in a Cell
Sami Zayn did what no one thought he would do: help Kevin Owens defeat Shane McMahon in their Hell in a Cell match, thus switching sides and aligning himself with KO.
Zayn recently appeared on the Pod Of Awesomeness podcast with E&C where he talked about his recent turn to the dark side. Here are some of the highlights from his interview:
"I'll try to summarize the character as easily as I can. The analogy I would give is that it's almost like when you are dating a girl and she has these little quirks, but they are adorable. But once you break up, it's like, 'Oh God! She was so annoying!' She was always straightening the blankets, always wanting the room at 65 degrees, or whatever."
"You know what I mean? The things you used to love about her, now you hate them, because you don't love her anymore. That's where I'm at now. I'm the same guy as before, but I have slightly different things because my intentions are different."
On wanting to continue being a babyface throughout his career, but now being excited about being a heel:
"It was kind of a fantasy in the back of my mind to someday do something like this, like Steamboat. I've had a great career, but I've always been the good guy, and I've done a good job, I've had little heel appearances here and there, but nothing serious."
"There's so much that can be done. I'm very, very excited, but in the revelation, that is, the part where I don't have full confidence yet, but I'm sure it will come. It's actually working, although I'm going to need to relearn this a bit."
