TV Azteca Requests Sanction Against Miguel Herrera

After the aggression by Miguel Herrera, coach of the Mexican National Team, against Christian Martinoli, TV Azteca commentator, following the Gold Cup title, the television station of Ajusco, the commentator's workplace, issued a statement calling for disciplinary action against the national strategist.

Grupo Salinas requested the Mexican Football Federation to conduct a quick investigation in order to prevent further acts of violence in the future.

"Given this circumstances, TV Azteca urgently requests an expeditious investigation into the events, from which sanctions must be applied and the corresponding measures taken so that no other representative of national football causes such regrettable incidents as this", TV Azteca stated, adding:

"We are surprised and extremely concerned about the behavior of the National Team's Head Coach. The Mexican Football Federation cannot allow such an aggression to our collaborator Christian Martinoli to be repeated at the hands of Mr. Herrera. Mexico needs more freedom, more public debate, and less violence", reads the document.

At the moment, there is no official statement from the Federation; in the case of Miguel Herrera and the players, they also maintain complete silence.
