"We could have scored with a renovated car."

Half a second. That's the time that Roberto Merhi has put on Will Stevens in the qualifying session at Hungaroring and that's why the Spaniard will be ahead on the starting grid again. And the Castellon driver, who offered a recital last year in the World Series on this track, is feeling better and better with his Manor: "I feel more comfortable with each passing lap, I feel better and I go faster, with more confidence."

They asked Roberto if he could be ahead of the McLaren Honda with a similar situation to last year, that is, with a new car for this season and Ferrari's current power unit: "We would be closer, I don't know if in front, that's too much to say. But it's true that we could have scored points already because there have been races like Australia or Silverstone where few cars finished and we could have taken advantage of it to score with a good strategy and a lot of luck."

What doesn't worry Roberto is the possibility that Fabio Leimer, who drove his Manor in the first practice session on Friday, will take his place: "I suppose that if they had any doubts, after the qualifying session here they will have disappeared. Fabio is a good driver, he has a lot of experience in GP2, in cars that here on this track don't go much slower than an F-1, but he didn't do anything extraordinary either."
