Uruguayan goalkeeper Sebastián Sosa joins Pachuca

Uruguayan goalkeeper Sebastián Sosa has become the ninth and final new face of Pachuca ahead of the upcoming Apertura 2015 in Mexico. The team from Hidalgo will make their debut in front of their home fans next Saturday at the Hidalgo stadium against Tijuana Xolos, who will have their new coach, former Argentine footballer Rubén Omar Romano.

In his first interview in our country, the Uruguayan stated that he is "very happy and excited to take this step with such an important institution like Pachuca". He also mentioned that he is "very excited" to share the locker room with the team's starting goalkeeper, the veteran Óscar El Conejo Pérez.

Sosa arrives in Mexican football after playing three years in the Argentine league with Vélez Sarsfield, where he won two league titles and a Supercopa. Before that, he was with Boca Juniors, losing the final of the 2012 Copa Libertadores to Brazilian team Corinthians.

The Uruguayan goalkeeper made his professional debut with Central Español in his native Uruguay in 2008, before joining Peñarol, a club he had been with in the youth divisions. With Peñarol, he won a league championship in 2010 and finished as runner-up in the 2011 Copa Libertadores against Brazilian team Santos.

With the signing of Sosa, Pachuca's roster for the Apertura tournament is complete. Sosa is the third foreign reinforcement for the team, joining his compatriot Jonathan Urretaviscaya from Peñarol and Argentine Rubén Botta, who comes from Inter Milan of Italy.
