The promoter Eddie Hearn reported that he made a very good offer to make the fight between the WBC Heavyweight World Champion Deontay Wilder (38-0, 37 KO) and the British Dillian Whyte (20-1, 15 KO). Wilder apparently doesn't want the fight against Whyte and he wants to fight the IBF, WBO, WBA (Super) World Champion of that division, Anthony Joshua (19-0, 19 KO). Wilder himself expressed this.
"Eddie Hearn, brother, let's stop playing games. We both know who I want from England. Some time ago you told me that your main guy was next, remember?" What I don't know is why you've started throwing cockroaches at me.
"First it was Bellew and now it's that dirty Whyte, come on. Let me tell you something, bump that $3 million offer up to $7 million and let it be on our terms."
“If you don't do it, it's going to cost the plans I'm about to make and it won't be on your terms. Do you dare to offer me $3 million and then expect me to fight on your terms? Last time I checked, I was the champion."
What really bothers the American is that if he beats him, he won't get the credit he deserves and they'll continue making excuses for not facing Joshua.
"When I beat your stray dog again, they won't give me the credit I deserve when I kick his ass. After this beating, they'll call him a bum and the whole world knows it. Fans really just want to see me back in the ring and be entertained, not by this garbage.
"Dillian Whyte is a doll to be crushed. He's designed to be hit. Every boxer wants to fight for a title more than once, hell, there are a few boxers who don't even get one. And out of nowhere, someone is offered $3 million, terms and all that? Get out of here!"
"I would love to give him the beating of his life and leave him bloodied and cash the check very easily. Keep sleeping and I hope that when you come back to talk to me it's with an open mind and a new heart, because champions don't like this crap."
The terms that Hearn offered Wilder have not been revealed, but it can be deduced that it is the venue and other things. It remains to be seen how Hearn reacts to these comments.
The last time Wilder saw action was when he defeated Gerald Washington on February 25th by technical knockout in the fifth round.
