Three months ago, a being arrived into the life of Luis Quiñones that transformed him and gave a twist to his world. Since Thiago, his son, was born, the 24-year-old forward from Valle del Cauca found a powerful reason to discipline himself and concentrate his attention on what truly matters. He left behind the problems that kept him away from the fields for several months after being expelled from the club (because he did not show up to several trainings, did not answer calls, and disappeared without explanation).

Thiago is my main motivation, he is who I wake up every day to train for, to improve, and every time I step onto the field I think of him,” said the forward, born in Cali.

Now, after receiving a new vote of confidence from President César Pastrana, who is known for giving a helping hand to the players when they need it most and enhancing their talents for the sake of the human being and the footballer, Quiñones returned to the "cardinal" house in a big way, with the goal of responding with victories to the trust they have placed in him and earning the affections of the fans.

“The most important thing for me in this return to Santa Fe has been the trust they have given me in these games, the trust that the coaching staff and the president give me; that fills me with motivation to keep doing things well,” he stated.

Luis has been key in the two matches that the red and white team has faced so far this semester, two victories against La Equidad, the first being 4-0 in the Liga Águila and the second 1-0 in the Copa Águila. In both, Quiñones has been important, with assists and the speed he adds to the team to unbalance the opponent's field.

“More than seeing the personal side, this is about contributing to the team, which works well, always proposes, is humble, and sacrifices itself. These wins strengthen the group and motivate me to work and improve every day”.

The offensive duo of Santa Fe has produced results, number 23 has been the ideal complement to the club's top scorer, Wilson Morelo, who scored the winning goal-last Wednesday in the first leg match of the Copa against La Equidad at El Campín-after a perfect back-heel pass from Quiñones, who read the game well and started the play that resulted in the goal.

“With Morelo, we understand each other very well both on and off the field, we always try to spend time together and that is reflected in the matches. The star is not always the one who scores the goal; the idea is to try to do things well for the group and for the team to always get three points. Wilson is more of a '9', more of a goalscorer. The coach is looking for a partner for him, who can dribble, who can cross behind, and I think that is reflected on the field”.

Inspired by his greatest blessing, Luis Quiñones has pleasantly surprised both the coaching staff and the directors and fans of Santa Fe. Little by little, he has been dazzling and showing that he deserved this second chance in the "cardinal" house. “I always have the desire to play and thanks to the help of the coach who gives me his trust, I have been able to do it. I try to work to always be a starter and help the team”.
