A lot has been said in the last few hours about Teófilo Gutiérrez, his agent, and the signing with Sporting Lisbon.
On Tuesday, Portuguese media reported the change of agent for the Colombian striker, and on Wednesday, an Italian website announced the interest of Porto.
To put an end to the speculations and to understand where the negotiations stand, AS Colombia spoke with Efraín Pachón, Teo's representative, to clarify some details.
Is it true that you are no longer the player's agent?
"That is false. Until this hour (10:00 pm on Wednesday, July 15, 2015), I have no knowledge of no longer being Teófilo Gutiérrez's representative."
Is it true that Porto offered a deal to Teófilo and you are negotiating with that club?
"No, sir. Until we finish with Sporting Lisbon, we cannot start negotiations with other institutions out of simple respect."
Why has the agreement and contract signing taken so long?
"It's due to a tax issue that has not been resolved. The tax burden in Portugal is 53%, which means that only 47% of the player's salary remains."
Do you and Teo have a deadline to rule out Sporting and start negotiating with other clubs?
"I don't know that today."
