VALORANT World Championship brings bad news
Once again, it has been detected that a player has contracted coronavirus during their stay in Berlin. Victor, a member of Team Envy and known for being a former professional player of Counter Strike: Global Offensive, is the latest player affected.
It was known that the player had the virus when each team member was tested. From Twitter, the official VALORANT Champions account confirmed what happened and ensured that the priority of the event is to protect the players and staff of the VCT Champions. In this way, Team Envy will be playing against their opponent through LAN.
Regarding Victor, he will continue competing with his team, but he will do it in an isolated room. It seems that he does not have severe symptoms and is still able to compete. Riot indicates that the organization has prepared all contingency plans to ensure that the tournament can continue with minimal interruptions.
VALORANT: It is not the first detected case
With the teams already in Berlin and under quarantine to prevent COVID-19 infections. However, it has not been possible to prevent Nivera from Team Liquid from testing positive. Like Victor, the player was put in isolation while his team will play through LAN connection.
We hope that no more cases will be reported, especially with the new Omicron variant appearing in different parts of the world.
Kun Agüero will be broadcasting VCT Champions
Kun Agüero has been chosen by Riot Games to be one of the main streamers covering the VALORANT World Championship.
Thus, the forward of F. C. Barcelona will be broadcasting the match between KRU Esports and Team Liquid through his Twitch channel. Their organization is the only representative from Latin America in Berlin. We wish him the best of luck!
