For the 4th match of the South American Qualifiers for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, where the Peruvian National Team will play against Argentina in Lima, the Executive left open the possibility that this match could take place with spectators in the stands of the emblematic Estadio Nacional.
This was stated by the President of the Council of Ministers, Walter Martos, who assured that he will evaluate this proposal made by the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF), which indicates that it could have a maximum of 5,000 attendees.
And it is the head of the PCM revealed that he had a meeting with the head of the FPF, Agustín Lozano, who proposed the possibility that the match against Lionel Messi's team be played at 13 percent of the total capacity of the Lima colossus.
"They are proposing an attendance of 5,000 people. They have already presented us with how the entrance, social distancing, and use of masks would be. Also about the access and exit (of the stadium) in coordination with the National Police of Peru," Martos commented to Latina.
However, he assured that before giving an opinion on the matter, he will submit the proposal to the Ministry of Health, who will give their opinion on the feasibility or unfeasibility of it regarding the Peru vs Argentina match to be held on Tuesday, November 17 at 7:30 p.m. for the 4th match of the South American Qualifiers for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
"On our part, as the Government, if at that time the conditions are suitable, I think it is necessary for the fans to go and support the Peruvian National Team as it should be. There is a positive attitude for it to be like that, but everything depends on how the pandemic develops," he concluded.
