The Chilean club made the information public but did not disclose the identity of the affected person, who was separated from the rest of the team and isolated as indicated by the health regulations to deal with cases of the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2.

"Thanks to our constant testing protocols, a positive case of COVID-19 has been detected within the group authorized to participate in the training sessions of Colo Colo's professional team, who has been isolated and sent to quarantine according to the protocol of the health authority," they stated in the press release.

Currently, the team is in phase 2 after returning to practice, which involves ball activities and running in small groups of no more than 7 people.

'El Cacique' also reported that no teammate has tested positive or anyone who can be considered a close contact with the affected person.

Chile has reported 353,536 confirmed cases and 9,377 deaths from the coronavirus since the first infection was recorded on March 3, and the country is under a state of emergency, nightly curfew, closed borders, quarantines in various regions, and non-essential businesses closed.
