The Italian professional gave indications of how the multiple Formula One champion would physically be.

Nicola Acciari, a renowned Italian neurosurgeon, has revealed that former Formula One driver Michael Schumacher "is not as we remember him".

In an interview with the newspaper Contro Copertina, which is reported by the Argentine portal Infobae, Acciari states that the German would have a "deteriorated organic, muscular, and skeletal structure", and indicates that his physical condition is "very different" from how he was remembered during his multiple championship years.

Very little is known about the seven-time F1 champion since the terrible accident he suffered while skiing in the Swiss Alps in 2013.

"We must imagine a person very different from the one we remember on the track, with a highly altered and deteriorated organic, muscular, and skeletal structure," said Acciari, based on his diagnosis "as a result of the brain trauma he suffered".

One of the few people who can have contact with Schumacher is his wife, Corinna Betsch. In November 2019, she broke her silence in an interview with She’s Mercedes Magazine.

"He is in the best possible hands," the spouse assured. "We are doing everything possible to help him, you can be sure."

And regarding his health condition, she limited herself to saying: "We are simply following Michael's will to keep his health condition secret."

The Italian press indicates that Jean Todt, the current president of the FIA and former team boss of Ferrari during the glorious era of the German driver, is one of the few people who have access to the strict care system surrounding Schumi.
