Students did not shine nor much less, but based on victories it is building a building of confidence in which its coach, Lucas Bernardi, strengthens and leaves behind the mistrust of the Albirrojo fan.
After the victory against Tatengue, Bernardi said in a press conference: "At our weakest moment, we scored the goal, we were not like in the first half, although I do not agree that the first half was bad; the first 25 minutes were very good, then the rival grew and on the field we felt uncomfortable, the feeling of the first half is that it was not very good, but it is something I do not agree with."
"At halftime we analyzed what Unión had done and after that we decided to attack the spaces and luckily it worked for us; with this we are becoming a tough, complicated, battle-hardened team for anyone, we have intelligent players who know what they have to do," Bernardi assured.
"In the goal, Unión modified its defense, their best characteristic is their defensive solidity; that is why it is something positive for us that we have broken that; the spaces were not inside, but on the outside, sometimes we used them with clarity and other times we did not; our players are always searching and we are satisfied with what they do," estimated the coach valuing his players.
FOR THE STUDENTS AND FOR UNIÓN
"I think there are two important things, Unión does not generate spaces and we made them play deep, they felt comfortable and counterattacked from there, partly our merit and partly what they did helped to have the game that we had," explained Bernardi.
"Murillo came in well, he did well, at times he used his speed to counterattack, but overall everyone did a good job," he referred to the debut of the Ecuadorian with the Estudiantes jersey.
"During the week we worked to have what we achieved, beyond the names, any opponent has their things, whether it's Unión or Independiente." To which he added: "I am very happy with the start, if you win, everything is fine, but in this case it is worth highlighting that there is a team that works, that has an idea, that has conviction and that is sometimes more important than results; I am calm about the forms, about how the team adapts to the changes, that is the best thing about the start of the championship."
"WE HAVE TO KEEP GOING LIKE THIS"
Another one of the protagonists who spoke after the 2-0 against Unión was the Colombian Juan Ferney Otero who said: "We are very happy with what the team did, we have to keep going like this, the first half was difficult because of what Unión did, but well, with the goal we got spaces and it opened up for us."
"IT COST US TOO MUCH"
Finally, the one who spoke was the figure of the field, Gastón Giménez, directly responsible for the first goal of the night: "We finished very tired, especially because of all the running, unfortunately sometimes without results because the first half was very tight and it cost us too much, we had possession, but we did not deepen, then the spaces appeared and we were able to score from the outside."
