The third stage of the 2018 Dakar Rally
The third stage of the 2018 Dakar Rally, held on Monday between the towns of Pisco and San Juan de Marcona in Peru, was marked by two serious accidents.
The car of Argentine driver Alicia Reina, one of the biggest names in the sport in her country, caught fire during the competition. Fortunately, she and her co-driver Carlos Dante Pelayo were unharmed.

Another competitor who had a tough day was Spanish champion Nani Roma, who rolled his vehicle just meters before finishing the special stage. Although he completed it, he was taken to the hospital with a head injury and could not finish the liaison.
Nani Roma is currently ranked 10th in the overall car classification after the third stage.
Nani Roma suffered a nasty crash. Fortunately, he was able to complete the stage and was quickly attended by the staff of the #Dakar2018.
