Globike Forum Presentation in Mexico City
The presentation of the Globike Forum took place in Mexico City, which will be held on February 24th and 25th, 2018. The objective of this event is to promote cycling as a sport in our country, and it will have the presence of Javier Gòmez Noya and Alberto Contador.
"It is a great event. Our goal is to promote cycling as a sport in Mexico; for our country to grow in terms of sports and the best way to attract all the lovers of this discipline and pentathlon is by bringing two great exponents like Javier Gómez Noya and Alberto Contador, especially to address those who are not familiar with this sport or who are just taking their first steps in these areas," said Mauricio Sunderland, president of the event.
The venue for the forum will be the Hilton hotel, where there will also be panel discussions, conferences, exchange of experiences, as well as clinics to promote cycling and pentathlon as a culture. Marco Navarro, coach of the Mexican cycling team, and Ariadna Gutiérrez, member of the women's road cycling team, who expressed her satisfaction with this initiative to encourage cycling in our country, were also present at the presentation.
"I think it's excellent that they are doing this. I believe that cycling is a sport that is much needed here in Mexico. We need to promote it not only as a sport, but as a culture, so that people become more interested in it and instill respect for cyclists as a traffic rule. The most important thing is for people to see it as a practical way of doing sports," Gutiérrez expressed for La Afición.
