LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An already shorthanded Louisville basketball team has lost another key piece for an unknown period of time. Sophomore guard Skyy Clark took to his X account Monday night to deliver the news that he broke a rib during the Cardinals' win over Georgia Tech on Saturday.
The transfer from Illinois is Louisville's No. 2 scorer at 13.1 points per game and leads the team with 34 three-pointers made.
A program spokesman confirmed the injury Monday night and said that Clark is doubtful for Tuesday's game at Boston College and that a "specific timetable for his return is unclear."
Louisville head coach Kenny Payne did not disclose the injury during an appearance on the ACC's weekly coaches teleconference.
Clark, a native of Los Angeles, has started all but two of Louisville's 24 games and played in all but one. He has dished out 64 assists while collecting 24 steals, both second-best on the team.
In his social media post, Clark said, "Broke rib … no sweat… no complaints!"
He also indicated that he finished the game, but now is in considerable pain. He did say in the post, "be back soon," though rib fractures usually bring significant pain and pain tolerance likely will be a key factor in how quickly Clark is able to return.

Clark scored a career-high 29 points with 15 of 16 made free throws in his sixth game at Louisville, a win over New Mexico State on Nov. 26.
In the Empire Classic in Brooklyn, New York, Clark 20 points in a loss to Texas and 19 in a losing effort against Indiana to be voted to the events all-tournament team.
His loss is the fifth of the season for Kenny Payne's second Louisville team. JJ Traynor is out for the year after shoulder surgery. Hercy Miller is undergoing surgery for a hip injury. Dennis Evans, a 5-star freshman, was declared out medically in December. Koron Davis, a transfer, was dismissed from the team. Another player, freshman Trentyn Flowers, left the team in August to play professionally in Australia.
Without Clark, Louisville is left with only eight healthy scholarship players.
