The LIU Sharks and UCLA Bruins face off on Wednesday in a college basketball showdown at the Pauley Pavilion.
It’s Going to be a Long Season for LIU
The LIU sharks come into this game with an 0-2 record overall and they have looked awful the first two games. In Game 1 against Air Force, LIU was defeated 82-67 and in the last game against Pepperdine they were defeated 88-53. In the first half they scored only 18 points, and although the offense was a little better in the second half, the gave up 49 points. Guard R.J. Green was the top player for LIU putting up 14 points, 10 rebounds, and one assist. There were four different players that finished at least 10 points.
Still no Real Tests for UCLA
The first real test for UCLA is going to be against Marquette in the next game, but they can’t be in a look ahead spot around here. In the first game UCLA was able to secure the 75-44 victory over St. Francis and in the last game against Lafayette, UCLA put up 68 points on the way to the 18 point victory. In the last game UCLA was led by Sebastian Machowski and he finished with 18 points and five rebounds. They shot 43.1 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from behind the three point line.

It might be a look ahead spot for some, but LIU is so bad, it doesn’t actually matter if they look ahead. LIU’s offense isn’t good and they are going to really struggle in this game. UCLA is going to have no issue running up the score against the LIU defense and they are goign ot get clsoe to 100 points here. This LIU team doesn’t have enough talent to keep up and UCLA is going to cover the spread.
