Las Vegas, an ideal location for NBA playoffs during COVID-19 pandemic
Amidst the crisis created by the coronavirus pandemic, Las Vegas is emerging as one of the most suitable venues for such an event, according to "Sport Illustrated." The publication highlights that this would avoid teams traveling across the country, which would expose too many people to a COVID-19 infection.
Las Vegas has become the only potential site for such a competition because the NBA has a long-standing relationship with the city, in addition to being considered a venue that has everything to host this type of event.
However, pulling it off poses challenges, such as sending thousands of players and employees to Las Vegas, as thousands of support staff would be needed in hotels and playing fields, in addition to the media personnel. It is proposed to have five-game series in the first round and the NBA Finals, with the conference semifinals and finals, each consisting of a single game, similar to the NCAA college basketball tournament.
