Timberwolves reunite Derrick Rose, Jimmy Butler, Taj Gibson, and Tom Thibodeau
The Timberwolves decided to reunite in Minnesota Derrick Rose, Jimmy Butler, Taj Gibson, and Tom Thibodeau. With the acquisition of the former Bulls player, criticism was not expected to wait and the point guard did not hold back his comments against reporters who express their opinions against his performance in the NBA.
"This is how I feel: You can have your perspective of me about whether I can play, shoot, this or that, it's okay, I have no problem. I'm fine with that. If that's how you feel, it's okay, but at the same time, I don't need your damn validation. I know who I am, I know what kind of player I am. So you respect that and I respect your point of view and we'll be fine. That's how I feel," expressed Rose to several reporters according to Nick Friedell for ESPN.
Rose's trade to the Timberwolves comes after the MVP of the 2010-2011 season did not have many minutes with the Cavaliers due to an ankle injury; in 16 games, he did not reach 20 total minutes of play. "I know them and I've been in battle with them over the years, so I'm comfortable. When I'm comfortable, usually, I play well," declared the new Minnesota player last Thursday.
Derrick Rose will have to lead the Timberwolves to the playoffs to silence the critics
Rose joins the Timberwolves' quintet in search of getting the team to the playoffs, a stage they have not reached since 2004. "I'm fully committed, despite having recently arrived. I just want to play and have the opportunity to show that I still have the level," he added.
Last Thursday he did not play against the Celtics, but his first opportunity to step onto the court wearing the Minnesota jersey will be on March 11th against the Warriors at the Target Center.
