Ja'Quinden Jackson got himself in the Arkansas record books in less than 2 games as a Razorback.

It didn’t take long for Ja’Quinden Jackson to put his name into the Arkansas football annals.

The Utah transfer rushed for 101 yards on just 8 carries with 2 touchdowns in his Razorbacks debut in a 70-0 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Aug. 29.

That was just his warmup act though.

Jackson took things to another level on Saturday afternoon on the national stage against 16th-ranked Oklahoma State, becoming the first Arkansas player with multiple rushing touchdowns in consecutive games since Alex Collins did it 10 years ago.

It took just 1 half for Jackson to pull off the feat, as he added 3 rushing touchdowns to his 2 in the season opener. Jackson scored on 2 5-yard runs in the 1st quarter against the Cowboys, before adding an 11-yard TD run with 5:05 left in the 2nd quarter that helped the Hogs take a surprising 21-7 lead at halftime.

So in just 1 1/2 games, Jackson already had 5 rushing touchdowns, and that included his dazzling 46-yard TD scamper in the season opener. Jackson also had a 13-yard catch in Saturday’s game at Oklahoma State.

Jackson was already showing the benefits of Bobby Petrino, who is back at Arkansas this season as offensive coordinator and has a wealth of transfer talent like Jackson to work with.

The Razorbacks currently lead Oklahoma State 21-10 with just under 4 minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter. Let’s see if Jackson and Arkansas can hang on for a massive Week 2 win.
