These avenues will be closed in Lima for the Lima 42K Marathon.

The complete closure of Augusto Tamayo street with Canaval y Moreyra avenue has been scheduled from 08:45 to 15:00 hours today.

The complete closure of Augusto Tamayo street with Canaval y Moreyra avenue has been scheduled from 08:45 to 15:00 hours today.

Until 3:00 p.m. today, Sunday, May 15, the crossing of Canaval and Moreyra and Republica de Panama avenues will remain completely closed in order to offer security and ensure the realization of the Movistar Lima 42 km Marathon, which began at 7:00 a.m.

Likewise, the Augusto Tamayo street with Canaval and Moreyra avenue will be completely closed from 8:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. today.

Meanwhile, different roads along the route will be temporarily closed from 8:00 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.

The marathon districts. The 42 kilometers will cover the districts of San Isidro, San Borja, Magdalena, Miraflores, and Surco; the 21 kilometers, San Isidro, San Borja, and Lince; and the 10 kilometers, San Isidro and San Borja.

Police officers from different units of the National Police will guard the route, which will pass through the districts of San Isidro, San Borja, Magdalena, Miraflores, and Lince.

The officers will carry out various surveillance, security, prevention, public order, and traffic control operations (such as road closures and route diversions).

The actions will unfold in three phases: before, during, and after the sports competition and will mainly consist of motorized and foot patrols in the surrounding areas to ensure the normal development of the marathon.

It is estimated that more than 15,000 athletes, both national and international, will participate in the three distances: 10, 21, and 42 kilometers, respectively. (Andina)
