The recognized adidas marathon returns in its thirteenth edition. The event, which seeks to bring together the running communities from all over Peru, will take place on May 21 of the current year in the modalities of 10K, 21K, and 42K.
Since 2009, adidas has been organizing the marathon, which year after year has been gaining relevance not only in the running community but also in all those passionate about sports. That is why this competition seeks to continue positioning itself as the largest and most important race in Peru.
In the last edition of 2022, the race managed to gather more than 14,000 participants, and for this year, it is expected to attract 16,000 people. This competition has the certifications of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS). In addition, like in previous editions, the marathon will feature the presence of renowned national and international athletes who will run in the modalities of 10K, 21K, and 42K, along with all the runners.
"At adidas, we are convinced that sports have the power to change lives. That is why, as organizers of the largest and most important marathon in the country, we want to bring together all running and sports lovers in an event that generates community and increases the love for this discipline. All participants will have the opportunity to compete alongside great running figures", comments Guillermo Byrne Labarthe, Marketing Director at adidas.
This event will also be an example of sustainability since it will have the Carbon Neutral certification, which will measure the carbon footprint generated and neutralize the emissions. In addition, the marathon will continue to maintain an inclusive line, allowing people with visual disabilities, wheelchair users, and upper and lower limb disabilities to participate in the various modalities.
Likewise, the marathon changes its name to Ángel Lima 42K Cereals since it seeks to promote a healthy lifestyle in the Peruvian family, encourage sports, and make it accessible to everyone.
What will be the route?
For this edition, the race will continue with the route used in the Lima 2019 Pan American Games, starting from Av. Larco and finishing near Kennedy Park on Av. Diagonal.
