The Peruvian delegation won 35 medals at the Junior Pan American Games.
The Peruvian Olympic Committee (IPD) and the Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD) announced today that they are preparing a tribute and award ceremony for the 35 athletes who won medals at the 1st Junior Pan American Games Cali-Valle 2021, held in Colombia. The ceremony will take place on Friday, December 10, at 12:00 hours, at the National Stadium.
The Peruvian delegation attended the Junior Pan American Games with 160 young athletes, which hosted 3,500 participants from the Americas.
The national team demonstrated great skill in the disciplines they competed in, and as a result, they won 35 medals (6 gold, 15 silver, and 14 bronze).
Among the standout figures is Sofía Isabel Mamani, who won the gold medal in the 10,000 meters race in athletics.
But the results didn't stop there. Tennis brought a shower of gold medals with Gonzalo Bueno and Ignacio Buse, Christopher Li and Lucciana Pérez, and Daianne Hayashida and Lucciana Pérez in men's doubles, mixed doubles, and women's doubles, respectively.
