Erik 'Goyito' Perez focuses on knee rehabilitation
Free agency is not a concern for Erik 'Goyito' Perez, who remains focused on rehabilitating his knee before being able to negotiate a new contract with the UFC.
"I'm not going anywhere, my mind is in the UFC, my future is in the UFC, and I still have many years to do great things in the UFC," said the holder of seven victories inside the octagon.
Perez Ruvalcaba dismissed criticism for the supposed departure from the promotion, as his six scheduled fights were completed last November when he defeated Felipe Arantes from Brazil, but he injured his knee from the first round and has been out of action since then.
The fighter from Guadalupe, Nuevo León said he feels excited to be able to participate with CONADE in the Mixed Martial Arts Academy project, where he is eager to participate as he did in the UFC development program when he trained in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
"I like these projects and I want to give them my full support, I want new generations, we already had a good generation with Yair and I want there to be even more generations and for the UFC to have more Mexicans and for the sport itself to grow even bigger," he declared to La Afición.
