Could not take advantage

Cienciano from Cusco had everything in their favor to take advantage of their closest competitor but they couldn't. They lost at home by the minimum difference against a Cantolao team that snatched the top spot in the Second Division from 'Papá' in their own home.

In a packed Garcilaso Stadium, Cienciano went after the ball from the first minute. However, disorganized and ineffective gameplay couldn't materialize any plays. The minutes passed and the fans grew anxious. Scoring opportunities came and went for the home team, but Federico Nicosia's goal didn't open.

The game started to heat up when a poor clearance left the ball at the feet of Diego Ramirez, who didn't hesitate to take a shot and beat Diego Morales's goal. The stadium fell silent and Cantolao became the leader of the Second Division.
