Investigation of Bribery in the New York Marathon
In the United States, the case of bribery that occurred in the New York Marathon is under investigation, with Russian athletes involved.
The incident is related to the participation of doped athletes in the event. The investigation is being carried out by federal agents who have monitored the movements of a character known as Andrey Baranov, although there are still no accused individuals.
Baranov, a Russian residing in New York, who has a history of cheating in athletics competitions, is being scrutinized by the Department of Justice of the United States.
In response to this, a spokesperson for the New York Marathon, whose 2016 edition will take place this Sunday, told the New York Times that no one in the organization received any bribe and there is no evidence of any crime.
