Chivas Prepares for Preseason Duel

The rojiblancos are honing their skills in California for Wednesday's preparation game against the United Soccer League's Sub 23 FC Republic from the United States.

Although this match appears to be an easy challenge due to the age of the opponents, the Chivas players see it as a nice test to return to Mexico and compete strongly in the closing stages of the Mexican tournament, as analyzed by Jair Pereira, defender of the team from Guadalajara.

"We have two matches that we need to take advantage of to maintain the rhythm we have in the league and for players who rarely participate, so they can accumulate minutes and raise their hand because that creates a very good internal competition that is what makes a team perform well," explained the center-back of the Guadalajara team.

Pereira stated that regardless of the level of the opponent, Chivas must display the same style of play that currently places them as fifth in the standings, as they know they must maintain their intensity to keep fighting hard for a spot in the playoffs.

"It's a game where you have to fine-tune details, we do it for the sake of our football, we don't worry so much about the opponent, but rather about staying on the same path that Matías (Almeyda) has asked of us, being a dynamic team that presses and maintains rhythm and confidence," concluded the Rebaño Sagrado defender.
