Diego Ifran made his debut for Sporting Cristal and did not disappoint. The striker acknowledges that he is not in his best form; however, he assures that with the passing of the matches he will be able to recover.
"I'm quite well, still lacking in football, but happy and joyful for the victory achieved last week. I know that with continuity I will return to my best form, so I work hard to achieve that," said Sporting Cristal's striker.
Sporting Cristal's number 11 does not shy away from the responsibility of scoring. He knows that one of his functions as a striker is to score goals for the blue fans and hopes to convert in the upcoming matches.
"Yes, well, it is necessary to score goals, but it is also necessary to win. Obviously, fans and the press ask the forward to score. We have to try to convert to reassure them and also to be calm ourselves," explained Diego Ifran.
Diego Ifran reiterated that he can play not only as a forward but also as an outside winger. The Uruguayan forward advanced that, as far as possible, he will assist a teammate with a goal in mind.
"It is always important to contribute on the field, whether as a '9' or with an assist to my teammates. The team's greatest need is to win, to accumulate points. Whoever scores the goals doesn't matter. It will be the same," said Sporting Cristal's striker.
In addition, the Uruguayan said that he has quickly adapted to the group of Sporting Cristal and sees Carlos Lobaton as a reference within the team. "I have adapted well. I get along great with the Uruguayans, with everyone actually. 'Loba' is a good person, a reference. Diego (Penny) as well. It's a good group," he said.
Diego Ifran showed yesterday that he is good at penalties. The Uruguayan practiced with Carlos Grados from the twelve-yard mark and converted all the shots.
