Grand Prix of Mexico: Disappointment for Sergio Pérez and Tourist Scammed by Taxi Driver
Last weekend, the Grand Prix of Mexico of Formula 1 took place at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, where many fans were left disappointed due to Sergio Pérez's early elimination after a collision with Charles Leclerc.
However, there were other situations that left the fans with a bad experience. Such is the case of a young Colombian woman who reported through her social media that she was a victim of an excessive charge by a taxi driver.
According to the young woman in a video circulating on social media, she took a taxi in Mexico City to go to the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez for the Formula 1, but the driver charged her an extremely high amount.
"We are in Mexico City, we just took a taxi because we were going to the Formula 1 and the driver just charged me a thousand dollars on my credit card, I mean if I don't receive a message from the bank, nothing happens. I had to call the police because this man wanted to charge me a thousand dollars, we haven't been able to enter. We are trying to solve the problem but he refuses to return the money," says the young woman in the video.

Later, she mentions that the taxi driver returned the money "in cash" and the video shows the police officers who had come to help her verifying that the bills were real.
After that, the taxi driver got back in his car and left, which made the young woman express her annoyance again, as the police "let him go," although she recognized that he had already returned her money.
In the comments of the publication that went viral on social media, several users reported that this incident is common among taxi drivers in that area, who excessively raise prices when there is an important event, such as the Formula 1 or concerts.
