The Peruvian athlete Lucciana Pérez has achieved another impressive victory in the singles category at the Pan American Games and is now preparing to face Laura Pigossi.
The Peruvian tennis player, Lucciana Pérez, advanced to the round of 16 in the women's singles competition at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games. In the second round, she defeated the Ecuadorian Camila Romero, who is currently ranked #978 in the WTA ranking. Pérez, currently ranked 1,119th in the WTA ranking and 18 years old, needed one hour and 23 minutes to defeat Romero with a score of 6-0 and 6-2.
Pérez Alarcón, a member of the Peruvian team in the Billie Jean King Cup, reached this match after defeating Arina Valitova from St. Kitts & Nevis in consecutive sets.
In the next round, Lucciana Pérez will face a challenging match against the Brazilian Laura Pigossi, who holds the #125 position in the WTA ranking and is the top seed at the Pan American Games. Pigossi also participated in the main draws of all four Grand Slam tournaments this season.
In the men's draw, the Peruvian Conner Huertas del Pino said goodbye after falling 6-0 and 6-4 to the Brazilian Thiago Monteiro.
