As he headed to his plane to travel to Denmark, the right-back expressed his disappointment about being excluded from the final list of the Peruvian National Team for the match against Argentina. He still hasn't made his debut in the Qualifiers.
Peruvian National Team Called Oliver Sonne for the First Time in the Eliminatory 2026
In the previous double round of the
Eliminatory 2026, where Peru lost to Chile (2-0) and Argentina (2-0), one of the novelties was the call of
Oliver Sonne to the
Peruvian National Team for the first time. All this after successfully completing the paperwork required to receive his National Identity Document (DNI) and officially become a Peruvian citizen. However, despite the expectations to see him play, the right back did not have any activity in either of the two matches.
Juan Reynoso considered him on the bench for the match against 'La Roja' in Santiago, but he decided to choose other players when making substitutions after the home team took the lead. His stance was even more radical for the match against 'La Albiceleste', as he did not even include him in the squad.
