"I was surprised by Peru's low level. I thought they would be more aggressive. That they would put pressure based on what we saw in the video," said the current Vasco Da Gama defender.
"We needed the victory here at home, against a direct rival like Peru and in good shape, so we were able to get the three points that were important. We didn't have anger, we were super calm about the way we were playing, we always controlled the ball well, we reached them I don't know how many times," Medel added.
Finally, the former Bologna player referred to Paolo Guerrero, whom he beat in the one-on-one at the Monumental David Arellano Stadium.
"He is a good player, I have faced him many times, we know his quality as a player and we always have to be focused on him," Medel concluded.
