The Peruvian national team will play against Chile in a new match of the 'Pacific Classic' for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The team led by Juan Reynoso aims to go with a strong eleven led by the national forward, Paolo Guerrero, who is in good form.
On the other hand, Chilean coach Eduardo Berrizzo will also seek to make a statement at the Monumental Stadium in Santiago against a direct rival. Chilean journalists are analyzing the possible line-ups between both teams.
In that line, a journalist from the southern country did not hide his 'fear' that the 'Predator' starts against Chile and asked his colleagues who would be the most suitable to mark Peru's captain.
"What do you think of the lineup that Berizzo will put out? I have a doubt, for a guy like Guerrero, is it better to mark him with Maripán or Gary (Medel)?", the communicator said.
"It depends on the area where you are going to mark Guerrero, if you are going to take him in the box, clearly aerial balls with someone of smaller stature can mean that he can move and hopefully he has a player who can handle that", a colleague responded.
"But if you are going to defend a game in the middle of the field where speed is the most important thing, I think another player will have to go and the right one would be Medel", he concluded.
