Juan Reynoso has more than one headache for assembling the team. Two of the players who were expected to start in this match in Santiago, Renato Tapia and Alexander Callens, did not travel with the delegation and will miss this new edition of the 'Clásico del Pacífico'.
In this scenario, the 'Ajedrecista' will have to move his pieces. The Celta de Vigo player, who was a standout for Peru in the first double fixture, was a solid choice as a center back or holding midfielder. Meanwhile, the current AEK Athens player was a left back.
The return of Carlos Zambrano, absent against Paraguay and Brazil, is a relief for the national defense, which also has the return of Anderson Santamaría to the squad, in addition to the presence of Miguel Araujo. On the left, Luis Abram, who had a solid performance in the September double fixture, could also remain. Santamaría can also play in that position.
In the midfield, Pedro Aquino reappears as an option. After being absent due to injury in the first two matches, the Santos Laguna player is ready to play against a rival he knows well: he was a standout in Lima in the last encounter between both teams (a 2-0 win for Peru) and in the friendly match that 'Blanquirroja' won 3-0 with two goals from him. Likewise, Wilder Cartagena, who is starting to get more minutes with the team, is also available for Reynoso as a starter, as he did against Brazil and Paraguay in the second half.
