Brazil defeats Peru 1-0 at the National Stadium

The Brazilian coach analyzed the match against Peru and acknowledged that they did not play a great game compared to their performance against Bolivia, where they scored numerous goals.
According to the coach, the National Stadium's grass was to blame for Brazil's inability to play their style. Its excessive height allowed Peruvian players to arrive in time for marking.
"We didn't have much fluency, the field seemed a bit strange to us, very different from what the players are used to. This facilitated marking, and we made more technical errors than usual, mainly because of the field, sometimes because of playing at a fast pace, but I think the overall balance was very positive," said the coach in a press conference.

Later, Diniz indicated that the players did not adapt to the National Stadium's field, which prevented them from taking control of the match and overcoming Peru's defense.
"In the second half, we tried to accelerate too much, there was the difficulty of the field, there was the marking, and we didn't have the patience to gradually dismantle it," he explained.
"This made our game difficult, there were many passing mistakes, which surely were due to the field, which the players are not accustomed to; it is very different from the one they have in Europe and was completely different from the one in Belém. It also had the difficulty of the field," he emphasized.
