Paul Pogba fails doping control
Paul Pogba did not pass the doping control, reported ANSA, the Italian state news agency, and tested positive for testosterone. The French midfielder was tested on the first day of the 2023-2024 Serie A season, although he did not play a single minute with Juventus, his team, against Udinese.
The 30-year-old player, who was on the bench, was required to undergo the test on August 20th, testing positive for testosterone. He will now have to undergo a confirmatory analysis to verify the presence of the substance, pending official confirmation.
According to the international media Gazzetta dello Sport, if the positive test for testosterone is confirmed, Pogba could receive a suspension of up to 4 years.
Pogba played for Juventus between 2012 and 2016, when he signed with Manchester United for 105 million euros, which at that time made him the most expensive player in the world. He then returned to 'Juve' in 2022, but has only suffered injuries and now the doping test.
