After Reynoso's stance on playing in Ciudad del Este: Barros Schelotto's resounding response.

On the next Thursday, the Peruvian National Team will visit Ciudad del Este to face Paraguay in the first match of the South American Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. After confirming the change of venue for the match between the two teams (usually, the matches between the two teams were played at the Defensores del Chaco, in Asunción), the national coach Juan Reynoso stated that "both teams will be visitors". In that context, Guillermo Barros Schelotto -coach of the Paraguayan national team- gave a strong response to the 'Chess player'.

"We have the freedom and autonomy to choose where to play and (Juan Reynoso) can come calmly. We will receive the people from Peru like no one expects, like never before, so they can rest assured", said the coach of the Paraguayan team in a press conference.

Guillermo Barros Schelotto also emphasized the work he has been doing with his team to avoid a bad performance against the Peruvian National Team. And it is that in the last visits of the white and red team to Paraguayan lands, the 'team of all' won 4-1 and later drew 2-2.

"The team that will play against Peru will be very different from the one that played in the last qualifiers. We feel very prepared for the challenge. We are following all the players. We believe we have chosen the best for this first qualifying combo", he said.

On the other hand, the 'Mellizo' considered that Paraguay is one of the teams expected to qualify for the next World Cup, as they are showing significant growth that he hopes will be reflected on the field during their qualifying matches.

"We have to bet on young players. The transfers of players to leagues like the Premier League give us a sign. We are doing well and happy with the work we have been doing. We have the tools to fight for our place at the World Cup", concluded the coach of the Paraguayan team.
