The forward of LDU de Quito is getting ready for the second leg clash against Sao Paulo, for the quarterfinals of the Copa Sudamericana. In other words, he will arrive in good form for the Eliminatories.

Just over a week remains until the debut of the Peruvian National Team in the next edition of the World Cup qualifiers for Canada, United States, and Mexico 2026, with Paolo Guerrero's name being one of the leaders in Juan Reynoso's list (last Friday, the coach announced a preliminary list of local players). Everything is almost ready for the matches of the blanquirrojo team against Paraguay (Ciudad del Este) and Brazil (Lima).

According to GOLTV Ecuador, the 'Depredador' was included in the 'Ajedrecista' squad based on the good form of the national player, who found the desired continuity -in Liga de Quito- after his brief spell in Argentine football, where he defended Racing Club de Avellaneda's shirt.

Although Paolo Guerrero knows that the matches with the Peruvian National Team are important, he prioritized the first match on his schedule: this Thursday, he visits Sao Paulo for the Copa Sudamericana, showing his confidence in achieving a result that can advance Ecuador to the next round of the competition.

"All my teammates know that it will be a tough match, but the important thing about this team is that it plays football and has a lot of experience. We have to play a good match in all lines and stay focused. Obviously, the stadium will be full, but that should not surprise us because most of us are used to playing in front of a full stadium in the league," he told the press.

When does Peru play against Paraguay and Brazil?

According to the CONMEBOL schedule, the Peruvian National Team will face Paraguay and Brazil in the first round of the South American Qualifiers. Against the first opponent, the match will be played on September 7 at the Antonia Aranda stadium in Ciudad del Este. The match will start at 5:30 p.m. (Peruvian time) and tickets are already on sale.

As for Brazil, the match will be played in Lima on Tuesday, September 12, starting at 9:00 p.m. at the Estadio Nacional. Although other venues were considered, such as the Monumental, it is finally planned to be held at the Coloso de José Díaz. Ticket sales and promotions are already available for this match.
