In two weeks, the South American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup will kick off, and the Peruvian national team will have to face their Paraguayan counterparts away from home in the first matchday, although the match will be held in Ciudad del Este and not in Asuncion as history mandates. However, far from everything that encompasses the game, the Paraguayan Football Association surprised by revealing its "renaissance".

This was announced by the aforementioned entity through a publication on its official Twitter account, where it excited its fans with the ambitious project that aims to return the Paraguayan national team to the highest international football tournament, the World Cup.
"The Albirrojo rebirth is officially underway with the presentation of this campaign that aims to achieve the long-awaited return of the Paraguayan national team to football's greatest stage", the APF said on its social media accounts, just a few days before the match against Peru.
It should be noted that Paraguay will host the Juan Máximo Reynoso's team next Thursday, September 7th, and will seek to break a dreadful streak. The Paraguayans have not beaten the Peruvian national team in an official match since 2012, and in a friendly since 2014. In their last two home games, they have suffered a 4-1 defeat and a 2-2 draw, although now the match will be played in a different sports venue.
