The Ecuadorian defender Luis Segovia leaves Botafogo and will play for RWD Molenbeek in Belgium for one season, loaned from the Brazilian club.
The leader of Brasileirao chose to loan him, but the bond with him remains as he signed for three seasons. Since arriving in Brazil in January of this year, he has played 10 games in all competitions.
"I feel very good right now and I'm joining a great group. It's a great opportunity to show what I have. We have a quality team and I hope to win as many games as possible," he said upon his arrival in Belgium.
In the club, he will be coached by a coach who had him at Botafogo. Claudio Caçapa is the manager of Molenbeek, but this year he was interim coach of the Brazilian team for four matches.
"I've already had the opportunity to work with him. He's an excellent player with a very good left foot. He has the ability to play between the lines," said the Brazilian coach. Segovia is the seventh Ecuadorian in Belgian football. They are already in that league Alan Minda (Cercle Brugge), Ángelo Preciado (Genk), Anthony Valencia (Royal Antwerp), Joel Ordóñez (Bruges), Nilson Angulo (Anderlecht), and Alfred Caicedo (Genk) in Belgium.
