San Lorenzo qualified for the round of 16 of the 2023 South American Cup by defeating Colombian team Independiente Medellín 2-0 (1-0 and 2-0 aggregately) in the second leg of the continental tournament playoffs played on Wednesday night in Buenos Aires.
Paraguayan forward Adam Bareiro (25th and 79th, both from penalty kicks) scored the goals for the victory of Ciclón, who had also won (1-0) the first leg in Colombian territory, closing the series with an aggregate score of 3-0.
In the round of 16, to be played in early August, San Lorenzo will host Sao Paulo in the first leg and play the second leg at the Morumbí stadium in São Paulo.
